Over shabbos I finally remembered the name of our transport. We were massa I’matan. This was the year of the fire 2002. My class was hamalach hanuiven. Our cheer went something like “hamalach hanuvuin mir firen di machna.... hamalach. Pause. Hanuiven. Pause. Then yelled “firt machna rav tov!”

The year before was yerranani. My bunk was paamuin zuhuv. I remember a class al hashminis, b’minim v’iguv & b’tziltzelei shema And part of some of their cheers!

in 2002 I was married for 6 years already. and you were still in camp! rofl.

Yes, Chayie Goldman was a teacher when my sister was. I guess she was head a year later.

Definitely not 2000. I was in 4th grade that year & as much as I begged my parents they didn’t let me go to camp. Lol

That was 2000. I was in 8th. My sis, your age (I guess) was in 4th, and she actually came and was with me for a week. It was year 2k! I remember it well.

After reading so many pages of memories.... I'm really jealous. My classmates all spoke about camp but mainly about the bad parts: doubling up or even tripling up, how camp is like school, no sports or fun, etc etc. that I didn't want to hear about camp. Now I see how much fun everyone had.
I actually know ches reish very well. Our grade was shocked when she married the alman. The late wife was outside on the porch but went back in to get a robe because she was in a nightgown and didn't come back out. Sad sad sad.

I'm posting amother because I don't know any of you irl besides for maybe one or two and this is public so no reason to out my sn.

Please carry on with all the memories, I'm enjoying them immensely.

This thread is addictive.
These memories... with every post I read more and more memories come up. So many here are so much older that I’m feeling young when I don’t relate. Like I don’t remember any of What mama bears posted. Only the daily schedule lol. It’s interesting though that it was the same for so many years.

Wow. Feel like I'm reliving camp. I'm enjoying these memories more than I enjoyed the real camp experience. I was in camp between 1995-2000.

It's like "I have your back". I'm with you etc. That meant, all 7th and 8th graders, choose which of the 2 9th grade "classes" they want to back (be teams with). They would cheer along their cheers, and celebrate their winnings etc.

Or, when I was in 7th grade and I arrived to camp for second half I was already told by my classmates who I should back.

Some other memories many of you probably dont even remember:

mr. Kohn's EPIC kiddush and the way we all mimic'ed him... the super loud enthusiastic YOOOOIIIIM HASHISHEEE....

and I dont think ANY OF YOU were in camp the summer that Rivka Tzirel Ashkenazi fooled EVERYONE in the entire camp, including Mr. Herzog & Mr. Kohn, with a fake letter she sent that there's a new pirtzah in camp, an English book called THE MAN that is circulating among the girls and is a terrible book....

We are mechitunim with Mr. Kohn now, and boy did his kiddush at shabbos sheva bruchos rock! The women folk were holding their breath not to shoot laughter, it was hysterical for all of us!

(As a staff member of MBR, I heard his kiddush many times over in the past years, but for my family this was nostalgic!)
