S/o camp from a camp director

As a former head counselor and head staff, I am really enjoying the camp threads. I especially appreciate the positive energy during these crazy times.

At the same time, I am surprised at the attitude in these threads towards the head staff. They are so much more than funny people to make fun of.

The people I worked with (in 2 camps) were hardworking, dedicated, and very invested in creating a beautiful atmosphere for their campers. They were role models, who infused the camp experience with meaning and opportunity for growth.

I can understand that to a kid who is a camper, the main focus is the fun times they shared. At the same time I am wondering if an adult looking back can recognize these other aspects of their camp experience as well.
