I see that I can use citric acid powder or vinegar. Where can I buy citric acid powder and which method is more recommended for an urn that was used alot without cleaning?

Citric acid powder is sometimes sold as sour salt or lemon salt, in the spice section of the grocery store. I highly recommend it.

The spice companies have it listed as sour salt. Look for Prima or Lieber's in the spice isle.
Otherwise you can order a full bag of citric acid on Amazon.

Fill urn with water. Add 4 Tbsp citric acid/sour salt. Turn on. Once fully boiled, spill out fully. Add clean water and bring to a boil again. Spill out.

Use as usual.

It's so gratifying to see it clean again. With no effort.

I use concentrated vinegar... first just the vinegar for the bottom, which has usually more calcium, and then I dilute it with water to clean also the upper regions...
