Neh. Didn’t think it was a joke.
I thought the shocked people were joking.
I’ve seen too much neglect in my neighborhood to think it was a joke.
Not being home when kids get off the bus is neglect.
Having little kids be another set of hands is neglect.
Leaving kids outside to play on their own is neglect.

And on.

Waste of ink.
Those who do it, won’t change because they read this.
Those who don’t do it, don’t need a reminder not to do it.
Common sense can’t be bought or sold...

I disagree. These psa’s make people stop, read, and think. I do believe some will learn not to do this from conversations like these.

You’re right. Even if it helps for even one person... so let’s get it published. Maybe in the letters to the editor thread.

I would have thought it was a joke, but I’ve had former coworkers who have done things like this. One of them left two babies at home, infant and 18 month old to attend a wedding “just for the chuppah”. After giving her a piece of my mind and others at the office as well, she looked at us like WE were the crazy ones and kept repeating “What’s wrong?! I do it all the time”. That’s when I realized , lots of neglect is happening right under our noses. I’ve seen lots more since.

Thanks crust.

A monitor is only for the purpose of when you are in the kitchen or at your desk (at home) and your kid is sleeping. You want to hear if baby wakes but are afraid you might not hear the baby, so you use a monitor. A monitor with a screen, is to also be able to see the baby, it is only another feature to the monitor.

There is truly something fundamental missing in out school system that makes it possible for so many people to do this.

No. This is something one learns at home. That's why you see cultural parenting norms. If my parents and aunts and neighbors do it, so will I.
