Hi I'm moving from NY and NJ and how does it work with Medicaid and WIC ?
You need to submit a totally new application?
How long does it take ?
Is there inevitably a gap in coverage for medical insurance ?

Medicaid is a state program so you will start from scratch. WIC is a federal program so your benefits might be transferred.

You need to submit a new application. We had a medication that couldn't have a lapse so we called jersey care and they flagged our account to expedite it. If you have a reason that you need immediate coverage call them. Even if you don't, call them they will likely push you through faster.

Best really is, get a decent job that comes with benefits, medical and all.
Not a life to be on walfare forever.
A move is a chance to examine what type of a life you want to have.

That's kind of rude. Everyone wants to have a good job and make money. Not everyone can for various reasons. Your judgement is just hurtful.

Thanks for your opinion, yes it's our dream to get off welfare. But given that Jewish life runs diff, like tuition etc, and now with COVID we took a huge income hit

Wow that's so judgemental. Not everyone on welfare is on welfare because they're lazy. Easy for you to say "just get a job" but you have no idea of her circumstances

It's a social services organization paid by grants that help people with various benefits and applications.
