NO, you can not ever, under any circumstances, and any planet, and any galaxy, leave your children alone in the car. No matter what security you think you have in place.

DRIVE WITH YOUR SHOE IN THE BACKSEAT.
By age 3, I teach my kids how to unbuckle their carseat-harness-thingy in the event of an emergency. (Ohhhhh booooy do they know not to unbuckle while in motion.)

I see it all the time by carpool. Mommy will bring 3 year old into school while 1 year old waits in his car seat Sad

Most schools have a "carpool line" where teachers bring the kids out to the cars. Speak to your school abt this.

People absolutely do this on purpose. I am not referring to the tragic accidents. Some people truly think it is ok to leave a sleeping baby or toddler in the car while they "just run in to the drycleaners" or whatever.
