My mother hated homework(as a mother I can understand)
I did miss recess for most of 2nd grade to do "homework", In Jr. High if you did not do homework three times they called your mother the school called ONCE. In 7th grade the main teacher came in to class to say that our class is the class that does the least homework in the school. We started clapping and singing "were number one" the teacher was not pleased.

Use a drying rack.
My mom always spread wet laundry round n round on baby's crib. Maybe when she was younger she did have a drying rack. I'm from the younger ones in the family and never saw one in the house.

Cook vegetables, fish and and meat for less than a million years. All meat was beyond well done. All vegetables were mush. All fish was dry. Anything that's supposed to be cooked for a long time was amazing.

Came on here to say this
Just yesterday a family member asked me in front of my daughter if she’s smart, if she misbehaves in school... I wouldn’t answer and she wouldn’t get the hint. “But I just want to know if she’s like you”. Ahhh I see

My eyebrows just shot up to my hairline.
That’s awful! Hug

Recently, my mom “disciplined” me/told me off about my parenting style (gentle parenting/Montessori based). Bh my kids are wonderful, and we have a lovely relationship. But my mother told me that I have to yell at them more and threaten them. I gently said “I’ll do what works for me”. And she replied with “I yelled at all my kids. That’s why you guys turned out so good”. Um. Shall I send you a bill from my therapist?

Oh, Lemon, It's frustrating when parents take credit for adult kids turning out good.

Anyway, so I make suppers and stay-at-home. Also we watch netflix (though we watched othe media before netflix existed so idk if it counts)

I'll go anonymous for this one

My husband dances with the kids, around the table, to ahallalu Hashem. Whenever we get together, all my nephews come running to My husband, let's dance.
My husband says, shall I be remembered as the ahallalu Hashem uncle, I'll accept it with pride!!

I don't talk about dieting and losing weight and being skinny as the most important thing in the world.

In fact, I don't talk about it at all.
