DS, almost 16, has had trouble sleeping for a few years now. He manages to fall asleep but then wakes a number of times in the night. We've tried several alternative approaches without success. Would you say it's time for a sleep study?

Other ideas welcome.

Yes, I recently did one. It was super straightforward and I wouldn’t put it off any longer. I had a zoom call with the sleep specialist and then they mailed me the equipment. I slept in my own bed and mailed it back. Then I had a follow-up zoom call. Definitely bring it up with the doctor and see if they can recommend a place! There are several very important things they can check for/rule out, and treatments! Good luck!

Did they found the reason for your sleep trouble?

Sleep study is a good idea & in the interim do an iron workup. My dd had restless leg syndrome caused by iron deficiency.

RLS was officially diagnosed with sleep study & pulmonologist suggestion was to check her iron levels.

Can you share the name of your specialist? I would want to do it over zoom

Did they find the the home study accurate? Curious on what focus was & which equipment was used. I can’t imagine a full comprehensive eeg sleep study done at home? I mean that would be super convenient though...
