Rabbi Efraim Stauber has a whole interesting theory about Shabbos being may'ein olam habah. So what do you do in Olam Habah? Enjoy a feeling of accomplishment due to your spiritual efforts in this world.

Thus, he says, keep a list of when you exercised your spiritual muscles during the week, and when Shabbos comes you can look back & enjoy the list. (See him on Torah Anytime, HOKUS in particular, for more if this resonates with you.)

I really enjoy his shiurim, but I was thinking about this & decided, that clearly, he doesn't know what it's like to be a lady who ran around all day Friday (and likely most of Thursday) and now you sit down after licht bentchen and WHOOOO relief, pleasure in what you managed to get done etc.

True. I don't always fall asleep when my head hits the pillow but it is nice on Pesach.
But the thing about tachanun is how people try to get out of it. It's not just a once a year thing. But I guess if it's part of enjoying another Yid's simcha, that's a beautiful thing, so let's leave it at that.
