Practical things, that don't make a big difference, is fine if you do your mom's way.
Nobody will get hurt if your dishtowels are in the linen closet, pantry, or cabinet etc.

Most things I immediately did differently just because I could. Then slowly I learned what worked for me and my family, even if its something my mother also does.
Some things are so much a part of us that we don't even know how to change it, or even think it may be a problem.
* I always have a disposable plastic tablecloth on.
* I hold onto things because I might need it someday.
* I blame my kids for my own issues and insecurities or for having needs I don't want to deal with. (OK this I'm very aware of and working to change every single day.)
* I'm very careful about recycling.
* macaroni and cheese is a meal.

My mother has borderline personality. I have minimal contact with her because sadly she’s so toxic. But she also has good, and I absorbed all that stuff and more.
Which teaches a big lesson. That even very difficult parents could pass down a lot of good. Especially on a soul level.
