Dd is of shidduch age and it has now gotten back to me twice that she isn't stylish enough. She dresses in classic, fairly preppy style and has a nice figure but is not at all trendy, and neither of us is sure what IS trendy.

Yes, I know that she shouldn't have to change and yes I know she should be able to be herself. But this has now come up TWICE and she needs to get married. So let's set aside whether I should care what's trendy and just tell me.

Frankly this whole process is painful enough as it is.

Is there any way you can get someone to shop with her? Clothes are so individual. Different things look good on different people.

Thank you for being so specific. That's really helpful.

I’ll post some links tomorrow. Does she need Shabbos or weekday?

I don't know where you live, but if you go to Brenda's or Talking Fashion in Brooklyn, they should be able to help you choose some outfits. You can also try Fallon's, to see what's in style.
Go on Instagram and follow those stores, and you'll get a sense of some of the styles that are in currently.

If you tell us where you live, we can suggest stores that have trendy stuff and a saleslady that is helpful. I used to drive my girls in to Brooklyn to Fashion Island for this. There was a saleslady there that knew my daughter and what worked for her.

Like the last two posters suggested, is there a friend of yours or hers that can help her?
Can you take her to some of the frum trendy stores and they can dress her.
There’s nothing wrong with dressing in style and fashionable. Enjoy

Midi skirts, animal prints, puff sleeves, thick knit sweaters, clunky or tie-up shoes, puffers, long cardigans, satin skirts, jumpers, brown/beige/tan colors, checkered, ribbed sweaters/shells/etc.

Good luck!
