Behind door shelf?

So on one door I have the shoe compartment hanging over the door thingy. I wanted to get for another door (where it makes sense) to put a shelving system in.
Anyone know one that:
-No drilling needed (hooks over the top of the door is preferred)
- has shelves rather than bags or slots
- plastic, metal ok, I don't want cloth.
- cheap!

I want to.store things like windex, small containers of things... maybe tissue boxes?
The shelves in that closet dont go to the door so I should have some space to put this in.
Any ideas welcome, especially if they meet some or all of my wishlist!

I had one in the past. Bought at Walmart or amazon. let me try to find a link. I didn’t like it though. Could be it wasn’t secure enough to the wall- stuff was always falling.

There was an awesome one shown in the last episode of the Home Edit on Netflix, the episode with the 2 boys in a shared bedroom. I am still trying to find it!

I honestly don’t remember which one I had. The door it was on had kind of a frame/molding around it so the shelf was not flush to the wall & therefore stuff was always falling. I’m assuming that shouldn’t be an issue with a straight door. I guess the question is if things that will be stored on it can handle the door slamming? How busy is the closet it will live in?

I can't speak for this specific product but something similar has been hanging on my closet door for somewhere between 35 and 40 years. I wouldn't try to store a boat anchor on it, but it can handle quart-size plastic shampoo bottles. What you need to be concerned about is the sturdiness of the door itself. My closet door is SOLID. I wouldn't try mounting this product on a lightweight hollow-core door, and if I were so foolish as to try, I'd store only the lightest of objects, like, maybe, boxes of tissues. If you can slam the door with a good solid crash, it's probably ok. If the door slams with a nebby thump, fuhgeddaboudit.

If the door is so heavy that it needs a device to slow it down, it is not a lightweight hollow-core door and it should be fine with the extra weight. Still, I would avoid burdening it with really heavy stuff. the hinges are meant to support the door, not the door plus a carload of canned goods. You don't want the weight to pull the door, hinges and all, right out of the frame.

what about a shoe organizer? I know it's not plastic or metal but because it's pockets rather than shelves you don't need to worry about things falling off shelves if the door is opened or closed.
