I am looking for a wool coat for my 15 year old son. It could be long or short but preferably with the zipper bib lining for warmth. We live in NY where winter's can be cold so should be as warm as possible. ( I know wool coats aren't that great for warmth but this is what the boys wear) I cannot afford the prices in the local stores. Did anyone recently purchased such a coat from Amazon or other online store and was happy with it? Can you post a link?

there was a good men shop with coats, suits, jackets, Mr Kupitz, 18th ave in BP.
Large store, good merchandise, reasonable, good people who like to help.

Boro Parkers- is it still around? low to mid 50s?

For sure there are some good stores I can suggest in Lakewood.

Also in BP 13TH ave 40-41 area Wallace - good coats good people, try on! check it out.

Thank you. Though I do not live in Brooklyn. So am hoping someone can direct me to a website to make this purchase.

If he’s in yeshiva and he wants to fit in with everyone, you should drive to The Hat Box (clothing store) or a similar type of store in either Brooklyn or Lakewood.

I’m not yeshivish so I don’t know if it’s the right look, but I always get my son appaman wool coats for shabbos as they have another layer underneath to keep them warm.

Try Kohl's and Macy's. With coupons, their prices can be much more reasonable than the frum stores and you can get the same look. I have gotten coats there for my boys for under $100.

I got a great coat in Nordstrom, last year or the year before.
It is wool, looks the look, but it is padded with down!!
Wasn't cheap, but it was so so worth it, and he's wearing it now for the second year (I bought a size 18).
My son looks like everyone else, but he's actually wearing a coat that keeps him warm Smile
It is the Tallia Down Insulated Coat. It is sold out, but here's a link so you can see the concept. Perhaps you'll find it elsewhere (I've been looking!)

I'm also looking around for another one in a men's size.

This is a typical mesivta boys yeshivish coat.
These are 30% off now.
Also hat box in Brooklyn sells similar.
You would need to tell them size and maybe they can ship to you.
