When you go away for shabbos, what do you do about lighting shabbos candles?
I light with oil. Do you have a travel set of candelabras with insert cups that you bring with you?

Stock up on prefilled oil cups chanukah time. Or have along those tiny bottles of olive oil and wicks.

But those just solve the issue of the cups, not the candelabra which they need to sit in. So do you bring a set of candlesticks with u?

Some of them come with a lid that you put on the bottom of the cup and it becomes a base for the cup to stand on, so you don't need any kind of candlesticks.

The past year or two I've noticed tea lights made of solidified olive oil, available all year, not just during Chanukah. That would probably be the easiest solution.

They can fit into candle holders. No need for candelabra.

This holds regular candle and candle holder (so can hold an oil cup) and flips for tealight.

They do sell traveling candlesticks. The morning after I got married we bought a set which I used that evening as we were away for Shabbos sheva brachos.

They're donut shaped (best way I could think to describe them, I'll see if I can find a picture) and they sandwich together. I use the glass cups and wicks and keep the whole thing in a ziploc container in my travel bag.

3 hour candles are also available.
These are in a liquid form.

I bring along small silver plated candlesticks to use. I also recently found pre-filled oil glasses that are very easy to bring along and set up.

My mother did candles and my mil doesn’t oil in addition to candles. It’s supposed to be for good kids. Anyway when I got married I started doing it like mil as I think it’s a nice thing but told my husband that it’s not a neder and I’m not holding myself to it when I’m not home or it’s super inconvenient

Olive oil tea lights, from ner mitzvah, on Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/prod.....faa08

And if you can't find them in wherever you buy ner mitzvah products, ask the buyer of the store if he can special order it for you. I work in a grocery and we will special order something for a customer if they ask.

Are those made out of plastic, are they safe? I get nervous from plastic holders.

I'm going to tell you an easy solution we do. Buy hi quality tea light and olive oil. The wick and metal bottom pulls out from the candle. Fill the empty tea light with olive oil. Put the wick standing back in the middle. The wick will look very tall but quickly go down once lit. Works beutiful
Anonymous because everyone knows I do this and even have commented that they like the idea.
