Calling all mother of twelfth graders. Can we discuss seminary options? There are so many, and personally I'd love to hear what others have heard.

Often a seminary will have a reputation in one city, and a completely different one, somewhere else, based on what girls have been there in the past few years.

I'll start with what I've heard. Let me know if you've heard differently

We are considering:

Tehillas - "in town" feel. High academics. Very popular

Seminar - in recent years become more yeshivish and academic

Bnos Sara - small, warm, and super academic

Chemdas - very yeshivish. Quite academic

Bnos batsheva - similar to chemdas, but newer and smaller

I'd love to hear about American seminaries as well.

Heard rumor that BJJ has sold the building and is closing. Can anyone confirm or discredit?

Bjj doesn’t own their building. They rent. Owner lives in Brooklyn.

Jew essence are for girls actively struggling. With boys, drugs, alcohol, etc. Its not a place for someone not struggling with these things or someone who WENTOTD and is back on a path. It's more for girls who are still off the track completely.

Peninim is more modern the girls there are struggling hashkkfafically. She asked for strong hashkkfafically. She's looking for a girl who dint actively struggling.

DD is planning on applying to Bnos Sara and BJJ (if they are not closing). Can anyone suggest something similar for a third choice (or second if BJJ is actually closing)? She is very strong academically. BY background and deep thinker.

Is it academically on par with Bnos Sara or BJJ?
