I want to get my wig thinned out but I am scared. Is there anything I should know?

Get it done by a professional you really trust. Only do a little bit, you can cut more, adding back is a lot harder.

If you can remove wefts instead, that is a better option, though not always possible. That way you can always add it back if you don't like it

Get it done at the company that manufactured the wig. They will care more about the wig. They will charge less than other repair places.
Keep the wefts they remove, in case you need to put them back in one day.
Do not have it thinned with a scissor/razor. You will regret it when you see those little pieces near the hairline (they become visible the second time you wash the wig after cutting)

Don’t let your wig be thinned out with a scissor.
If you’re thinning at the top, the hair can be pulled out at the root with the fingers or a tweezers. If you’re thinning the bottom, remove the wefts and save them bec they can be added back for a minimal fee.
Leaving stubble from scissor thinning behind us counterproductive cuz those short ends add volume.
