Are there any steaks that cook OK in the oven?
Should I just invest in a grill pan?
I have such little knowledge as far as meat goes and the meat always get so tough when I try to do it on the stove. Can someone help me out please?
Need a couple of simple basic recipes for steaks that a beginner can follow easily.

Do a reverse sear with a ribeye, starting off in the oven, and then searing a minute on each side in a hot pan before serving.
How do you like your steak? Medium? Well?

IMO it is a total waste of a good steak to cook in the oven. The reason you pay a super high price per pound for a rib eye or other steak that should be grilled or seared is because it is tender and so it doesn't need the slow cooking that cheaper cuts require.
Invest in a grill pan or even an electric grill - these are relatively cheap and are useful to cook all kinds of stuff.
Or, as suggested by another poster, use the broil on your oven but that (again in my opinion) is more difficult than a grill pan or electric grill because it creates such a mess in the oven from the fat sizzling.
