Just curious. I go to bed early because I'm up early

To bed or to sleep?

I usually don’t go to bed until after midnight. But I always fall asleep on the couch first. It’s a terrible schedule but I’m always too tired to get up and get ready for bed.

Huh. There's often an hour between when I get to bed and when I fall asleep. Which is why it's a pain that I get to bed after 11.

Depends when I get home from work. If I'm home early, then between 11-12. If I stay at work late, then all bets are off.

I’ve been going to bed around 12-45-1 am. Some time’s even past 1 for a long time. How do people manage to be in bed by 11 or 12 especially if they have kids who are still up at 9:30 or later. When do you unwind or prepare for following day like lunches?

On nights before I have an early shift (usually twice a week), I’m in bed by 9:15 and usually actually asleep a little before 10. On normal nights, it’s more like 11-12 (ugh).

Last night I went to bed about 130. Normally I go to bed at 2 or 3. No idea why. I'm trying to get to bed earlier like 12. I get up at 7am and nap every day for 2 hrs or else I cant function the rest of the day and crash on the couch before the kids go to bed.

I'm guessing:

Read
Talk on phone
Play on phone
Relax
Watch films
And ...er...ahem...

Usually I get a lot of work done in the evenings after the kids go to sleep and end up going to bed around 1:30. But now I'm pregnant and I'm my first trimester and find that it's impossible to stay awake in front of the computer past 10:30. It's a pity, because I'm falling behind in my work (it all gets done but I prefer to be more ahead and less last minute), but what can I do? Hopefully second trimester I'll get some energy back.

Lol it's not how do I manage to be in bed, it's how do you manage to stay up?!? I'm exhausted by 10:30 by 11:30 I'm feeling dizzy and headache if I'm still up. No time to unwind would rather sleep! Lunches BH my kids get in school but otherwise try to do cleanup and things between bedtime routines.

By 8pm I've collapsed into bed. I browse imamother and watch movies and then get up later to clean the kitchen and take a shower. Sometimes I'm asleep by 11. Often much later.
Before the pandemic I was usually up until 1am or 2am. Now I realize how valuable sleep is. I need to be up at 7am to prepare for the work day so sleeping 5 hours is harmful.

Same. After supper I put the kid to bed, collapse on the couch. Wake up when dh comes back from kollel. We wash dishes go shower and climb into bed around 11:30/12.
Then I can't fall asleep BC I slept on the couch...

I hang out on my bed after I put my kids to bed so I'm on hand to deal with the inevitable bunch of times they either come out of bed or call for me or are being too loud and need to be shushed. Half the time I fall asleep fully clothed and take a nice "nap" and then my bladder wakes me up a few hours later. Once I'm up I'll throw in a load of laundry and prepare lunch/snacks for the next day and enjoy some "me time" in the peace and quiet of a sleeping house. Then I'll change into pajamas and go back to sleep for a few more hours. Other nights I don't fall asleep automatically so I'll get up after vegging for an hour or so to go take care of things and then eventually go to bed at a normal time.
