My apologies if this comes off obnoxious, cuz I really don't mean it to be that way. But really, who cares? As long as we have enough to provide for our family, I really couldn't care less what others have.
Sorry, I know I didn't answer your question, but I thought I would put in my 2 cents anyways.

I totally hear you. I am on a financial journey myself and I watch many financial videos on youtube- I'd love to see a frum version. If anyone is comfortable putting in the information in the poll I'd appreciate it.

We have about 5k in the bank and another 20k in cash. I would love to put it all in the bank but DH has a Holocaust mentality and likes to have quick and easy access to money that the IRS has no track of.
We're in our low 30's and BH recently finished paying off debt from buying our house a few years ago, so now we can finally start saving again.

We have less than 10k now, probably around 4K. But we happened to just have invested a lot of money into our home and paid it off in full. IyH soon we will refill our accounts (we bH make more than we spend in general).

I’m in my late 20s.

I think we are pretty normal for a JPF (although a little more OOT then most) ... kids raging from 28 married with kids all the way down trough some teens a few in grade school and a two year old of our own.

We have anywhere between 0 and 5k saved at any given time. Own a home and some land, paid off vehicles and no debt. If a crisis came tomorrow we would be reliant on god alone, if a crisis came next week, we’d be ok.

My parents always said “our retirement plans and investments are on two legs” ... that means that when the time comes, dh and I will trust that our kids will care for us as we cared for our parents and as little kids we saw our parents care for our grandparents.

Really? Let’s say you retire at 65. Do you expect a 45 year old child with all of their expenses their own life has to carry your expenses as well? I never heard of this concept before.

I am really appreciating everyone's responses. I'm going to put myself out there and say that in my 20s I made a lot of very poor money choices, having very very little knowledge about how to handle finances despite growing up in a relatively well off family. Baruch hashem, the past 2 years I've totally taken charge of the finances in our home. I am totally obsessed with everything Dave Ramsey. I use a budgeting app called mint, I opened a money market account for 3-6 months of savings and I am now saving little by little for retirement, starting this year with maxing out my Roth IRA. I've become extremely frugal, a workaholic and generally interested in all things money. The past few days all these posts about people writing authentically about their finance situation is really eye opening to me. I'd love to maybe start a youtube channel for frum families to chart a course for how to be financially independent.

I voted between 30-60k. There's about 45k. we are high 20s low 30s. Also each have a 401k and I'm not sure how much are in those.

I feel that there are a ton of websites, youtube channels about people posting actual monthly income expense budgeting. There is nothing out there for frum families. Yes there are weekly columns here and there and mesila, but someone frum, showing their actual numbers would be a tremendous asset. I've learned so much from these budgeting videos, I'd love to see a frum version.

$25,000 in the main savings account. $8000 in our main checking account. $2000 in another checking. Don’t know how much in retirement but maybe another $25k. And then some more scattered in some more savings accounts. Not sure how much.

Mid thirties.
