No - this was completely a pity purchase - trust me. The kindness of neighbors and the innocence of children.

I think that was the summer my Bubbe decided I shouldn't have bangs and so I had these awful barrettes holding back the half grown bangs. And since I was a target for mosquitos I was also a scabby mess because naturally I kept picking at them so my legs and arms resembled a leper. LOL

And also needing to purchase clothing in the Chubbette department. I can't remember what it was called but it had some kind of embarrassing name. Horrible pre-puberty.

And Alton is such a fun geek although generally his techniques were such a potchke that I just took in the "science" but never actually made them. I remember the show where he demonstrated how to fry a turkey and it involved constructing a pulley to lower the turkey into the boiling cauldron of oil. Very Happy
