My son really learned a lot and enjoyed social thinking by Michelle Garcia Winner. It uses a whole super hero theme that he really got into.

Hi, I'm a social skills therapist, I recommend Julia Cook's Decibella and her 6 inch voice; you can order it on amazon.
Great book for kids!!
In terms of handling disappointment you can role play and categorize "Dangerous" vs. "Upsetting" situations. Act it out, draw it out etc.
I also have a much more comprehensive emotional regulation program that I created that I use with my clients; you can contact me for more direction if you want.

Thanks so much! How about for teens to make sensible friend choices? I’d love a Jewish one because there’s hashkafa involved in making friends who are good for your growth.

Hi, I don't know of any book per se, but I have done activities with clients such as looking out for open/friendly body posture, vs. closed/unfriendly body posture and what makes a good friend....
and of course, how to be a good friend to others!
If you find one, you can post it!

Where are you located? Curious because I’ve been searching for a social skills therapist for my DC and haven’t found someone yet. Wondering if you’re in my area!?
