Is Tamar an outdated name in israel ? ( in Anglo charedi / ramat bet shemesh style ... a little more open than average chairedi circles) how about Devora? I'm thinking about a name to add along to Devora which we need to use to name after a dear relative . But I'm concerned that Devora isn't the most modern name so we add a different related and call the child by the added name . Would Tamar help for this purpose , or is it also outdated?

It’s only been in the top 5 girls names every year recently. Both of my gan girls have 3 in their classes. DD5 is Tamar! It’s common now when it’s opinion the parasha.
rav Shteinman's wife was Tamar.

It would be cool put together with Devorah, cos it sounds like Tomer Devorah (from Shoftim). Was that why you chose it?

Tamar is a classic on every circle, you can’t go wrong with that name. Tamar Devora is beautiful. Reminiscent of Tomer Devora.

Any Tanachi name is totally fine and not dated. I have seen some girls called Debbie here. I think that those are both strong names that I personally wouldn’t put together. But Devorah Tamar has a nice sound, but is a mouthful.

I actually knew a Tamar Devorah during my college years. Anyway I would have to echo the masses that they are both classic names and I know quite a few friends who have given birth in recent years that named Tamar.

I know a Tamar and a Devora (called Debbie) who are both around 7-8 years old. I also know adult Devoras and Tamars. I think they're both fine.
