I like the name Dolphin. Unfortunately, it is not a name, and the most similar name belongs to Haman's son.
Another name I like but wouldn't give is my own name.
Also the name Esmeralda. It would stand out too much where I live.

Olivia is my favorite name on the planet. But we’re yeshivish, and I can’t see that going over well...

There are so many literary names I love - Juliet, Holden, Atticus - but I wouldn't give it to a child. It's not the baby's fault that DH and I love books, haha. Although Juliet could probably pass for a middle name.

Ami -- can't use it because I have an Amichai 😂
Also Yochai for the same reason.
Similar for my other kids -- there are names that I really like but can't use because they sound too similar to a name I gave my kid.

I like Puritans names like Prudence, Patience, Obedience, Faith, ect.
I never asked my DH what he thought because I know what he will say(Are you crazy).
I feel to bad for my kids to even try for a middle name.

I was once helping friend a few days after she had given birth to her fifth son. The Brit was imminent and they had to decide on a name. After much cogitation she suggested that Chanan-el would be nice. Her husband pointed out that they already had Chananya and Elchonon, and unless she wanted a family theme perhaps it was time to think in a new direction.
Sometimes you can just really like certain sounds/ideas. Sometimes you have to have the sense to know when to stop with them.
