already friends with, thinking they had accidentally deleted me, but then realized it was a hacker, same name but different person. I deleted the new on as soon as I could, but do I need to worry or change my fb password or anything?

It sounds as if the person whose account was hacked was your friend, not you, but it's always a good idea to change passwords when there has been suspicious activity on your account.

I wouldnt worry about it. You can change your password as a precaution but I doubt that your own device is at risk. Usually these kinds of hackings are done so that the hacker can solicit the victim for money, pretending to be your friend. But since you know that this is a fake account, I doubt you would give them any money.
