Most of these people were personal trainers, runners, were healthy. And now they can't even walk a few blocks months after having COVID.
There's a new unit in Mount Sinai Hospital for these type of people suffering from fatigue, muscle issues, lung issues, tremors, insane migraines, amongst other symptoms. They've treated over 1000 people and now have a long waiting list to get in.
Many people in comments are comparing the symptoms to their chronic pain disorders, autoimmune disorders, fibromyalgia, etc. No one knows if there is anything to do or if this will be life long but doctors claim it's likely if the symptoms aren't addressed and treated immediately. Even then there's no guarantees.
One of their theories is that the immune system goes into overdrive and then damages your own body - which would explain why this is affecting healthy young fit people.

Before covid I was training for an hour each day. A month in and I can’t walk a block without getting out of breath, and I am 32 years old.

I'm so sorry. I'm in my early 20's and am taking all precautions to not get COVID. Better safe than sorry.

I lost my sense of smell and taste. It's 8 months later and I have regained 65%. It's disheartening.
BH none of the issues mentioned.

Similar. I was sick before pesach and still can't smell most things. Interestingly, I only lost my sense of smell after I was already feeling better.

This is an excellent video. I have a friend in her 50s who suffered while having Covid in March and continues to suffer to this day. I know several people who had Covid in the spring and then died in the summer or fall of issues that were caused by Covid. After these deaths people kept saying she/he recovered from Covid, it wasn't a Covid death. Guess what? in each case the person did recover from the initial Covid but the disease had irreparably damaged their lungs, kidneys, heart, or liver. Say what you want to justify not wearing a mask or distancing but Covid often kills months after the person "seems" to recover from the illness.
You can show all the well researched reports you want but most Yiddin will not take Covid seriously until THEIR rebbeim say it's so and require masks and social distancing. I'm constantly ashamed to see pics from funerals and simchas where very few people are wearing masks when standing shoulder to shoulder with 100s or 1000s of people.
An open letter to the leaders of kehillas that will not make a move without your direct instructions:
Rebbeim, you require that your kehilla follow all of Halacha, minhagim, and many, many chumros, Please require that your kehilla do their part to help avoid infecting others which will save lives!
Please ask your kehilla to daven, mask, and social distance to help everyone avoid this debilitating and sometimes deadly disease.

In the video there's an interview with a top brain and autopsy specialist head of the department who was studying brains and found blood clotting in not just the brains but in lungs, kidneys, etc from COVID. She can see from the brains of dead people how it caused strokes that led to deaths.
So its possible people who had a stroke months after COVID it was from blood clotting.

I keep seem this reference to people being runners athletes fit, as a way of indicating that they were healthy. The issues with long term covid, and any chronic infections really, is about immune system health, which really isn’t directly related to how fit, thin, or athletic one is. These people should be piggybacking off the chronic infections, ME, Lyme etc communities and what they’ve learned over time about chronic infections, gut health, immune health, cytokine storms, dysautonomia etc. Not that this is a walk in the park, but any infection out there can do this, this isn’t a new phenomenon by far. These people already have things going on with their immune system, they may not know it or there are soft sign, the infection is just the final trigger. There are reasons why some people’s June systems go into overdrive and some don’t. Yes there may be a genetic piece, but that’s obviously not all of it.

I’m 34 and had covid. I was sick for 10 days and lost my taste for a week. I’m totally back to normal and was feeling back to normal as soon as I felt better.

maybe covid is more dangerous for runners, athletes and personal trainers?
most normal people get back to themselves within a few months at most.
if the ones with bigger issues are the athletes, then I would want to research, why?

Similar story here but I believe that the reason is because we sat indoors for months. It makes you old.
Why do you think it was the actually virus that did it?

I personally know non athletes who are dealing with this. And not everyone in the video was an athlete. Fanatic Frummie, a poster here has posted a few times about suffering from these affects as well. So have other users in a older thread.

Not everyone sat indoors. Even during the height of lockdown you could go out and go for a run. I think she meant before she GOT COVID virus in her body not since the COVID virus came to the world in Febuary.

The virus has not been around long enough to prove that any of its effects are permanent. Nor can it be proven that any of the long-lasting negative effects would not have been triggered by any other virus.
Be careful of the virus, but don't live in fear.

I’m a speech pathologist in a hospital and rehab center, and I do breathing exercises with recovering Covid patients. One of my (many ex-Covid) patients is a young guy, 32 years old. It’s crazy.

I got Covid in March.
It caused clotting issues resulting in an early miscarriage and hemorrhaging from it.
Since then I am always extremely exhausted. In addition I've more recently had pain in my knees. Going up and down steps is very painful. Still sometimes get shortness of breath.
