And who does it go according to- you or your husband? Or is it a compromise?
Is it something you fight about in your house?

I set the thermostat. I seem to be the most temperature sensitive of the two of us.

And during the winter it is 69 - 70 during the day and 67-68 at night .

During the summer it's set to 73, but that can also depend on how hot / humid it is and how often it the ac comes on.

DH always wants it too cold (IMO) in the summer and too hot and stuffy (IMO) in the winter.

Luckily we're at that time of year here where we need neither a/c nor heat.

I was freezing just now and went to see that our thermostat was set at 64!!! It's been at 64 for a while and I was fine didn't notice. Today I had a chill and thought to check.

Typically I like it at 68/69

I guess we are in austerity mode right now when it comes to energy and I wasn't notified lol

68. He would like it to be set for 72. I would like it set for 64. Perfect compromise :-)

Our house is very poorly insulated. It’s on 72 and I’m cold. I’m not a very cold person but there is a certain chill in the house. I’m wearing a sweater. I refuse to move the thermostat any higher! I do wonder though if the thermostat is slightly off by a few degrees. I am in charge of setting it.

This sounds like me, but now I am wondering if I am spoiled to keep it this way and not do with less....

No idea, because I live in a co-op. But definitely too high.

In heating season, 65 during the day, 60 at night. 67 during the day on Shabbos/Yom Tov.
In cooling season, 73 during the day, 70 at night (unless it cools down enough to open the windows at night...then I turn it off at night)

About 69-70 in the winter. On a very freezing night, we might raise it a bit more, 71 or even 72. But not usually.

In summer, 71-72.

I think thermostats and insulation vary from house to house. I moved 3 years ago, and my numbers were different in my old house (which I think was actually better insulated.) So hard to compare numbers from house to house.

We keep ours set to 65 degrees in the winter and when I feel too cold we will increase it to 66. Both DH and I are on the same page about it.
