All of my babies slept in the car seat at some point. My pediatrician said it's totally fine. They grew up with no issues because of this bh.

I try not to let them. My sister in law has them sleep in a carseat near her bed for the first year.

It’s really dangerous. Big risk of positional asphyxiation, and it’s survivor’s bias if anyone says they did it and their kids were fine. The most I do is bring my baby in sleeping in the car seat, take off my shaitel, and then take the baby out.

Nope. Way too dangerous. They might sleep well but it's not worth the risk.

I try not to. I got a cheap stroller that lies nearly flat and put the baby to sleep in that. Not as good as a carseat but he does sleep pretty well there.

I find babies sleep much better when warm, I used to put some of my babies to sleep in a snowsuit Surprised

A supervised nap if they fall asleep in it. I'm also makpid to tilt it back to the position it's in in the car and not leaning forward.

My paediatrician says it’s a 100 percent fine.
he says babies are like cooked spaghetti, position doesn’t make a difference

Sorry but this is terrible advice. Their chins can easily drop down to cut off their airways and you wouldn’t even notice.

He's wrong. You can google and read the stories. I would also personally be concerned that he's not aware of how dangerous it is. But I'm not surprised many pediatricians are not up to date on general car seat safety.

Napping in the car- yes. Otherwise, no. I cringe when I see people using their doona as a stroller with their sleeping baby

This. And there are people who use the doona as their child’s set napping space at home!

What does that even mean? Cooked spaghetti?

So you mean he’s okay with them sleeping on their stomachs too?

Many pediatricians are ok with sleeping on the stomach.

So if it's in the car it's fine right? Is that because of the position of the seat? Or just because you can't help it if your baby falls asleep in the car? What about if the car seat is in attached to the stroller with one of those converter/adapter pieces you can buy? Do those tilt the car seat to the same position as it is in the car?

The angle is best in the car and you can't prevent them sleeping while the car is moving. If the car seat is attached to wheels it's ok like the car. But not for long periods and not unsupervised. A car seat not in the base or on wheels is extremely dangerous because of the angle.
