Do you want to have it? | Not everyone that gets HIV develops AIDS. And HIV isn’t the only virus that causes immunodeficiency. Mycoplasma, for example, is known to invert the immune response. That’s what I wish research would focus on. What differentiates people who develop AIDS from HIV from those who don’t? What makes some people develop chronic issues, cytokine storms, ARDS from the new corona virus while some don’t? And what does this tell us about potential areas of treatment/prevention? How do we keep our organs and immune systems working optimally so that viruses don’t gain access to our cells and systems? This is what we should be taking a deep, hard look at.

Because other Coronas are basically localized to the respiratory system, similar to rhinovirus that rarely, if ever, spreads elsewhere, and people expected this one to be the same. And in the beginning it seemed like it was, all the symptoms were respiratory. But with time it became obvious that this new one is more of a systemic virus. But there’s nothing new about systemic viruses, lots of them start in the respiratory system and spreads systemically. It just wasn’t expected with this one.
