If I called you right now, what language would you speak most comfortably and what do you speak most comfortably with friends?

English is the only language I’m remotely fluent in. I can understand some basic Hebrew.

If you’d call me I’d hear what language you’d start the convo in and I’d likely continue if I understand.
If you speak German or modern Hebrew please speak verrrrrrry slowly and clearly.

I would answer in the language you speak. Of course only if I speak that language.

It depends on who you are. If you speak Hebrew then I'd speak to you in Hebrew. If you speak English better than you speak Hebrew, then I'd speak to you in English.

It depends on the time of day.
Caller: Hello.
Me: Unnngh, errgh, blleehhhg, mrrrr, engh.
Caller: Hello, is this FF?
Me: Nngllllssh, ummmm, do you know what time it is? Ungh!
Otherwise, English.

Not all chassidim speak yiddish.
Also, you put this thread in the pregnancy and childbirth forum, so I assume most people did not open it. Many people on this site have that forum blocked and many just ignore posts there. I moved the thread for you.
And remember, these polls are far from scientific. Polls here are only as accurate as the people who open and reply.

Many chassidim are more fluent in English than Yiddish.
I would respond in English even if spoken to in Yiddish

A. Many chassidish women speak Yiddish in the home and English to their friends
B. Since this is an online forum it's automatically skewed towards more open chassidim

I am chassidish.
English is my first language. Hebrew is my second. Yiddish is a third and although I am fluent, I am way way way more fluent in English and Hebrew. There goes your stereotype.

If I understand the callers language, I'll respond in the same language and eventually, naturally mix in English.
If I don't understand; surry misses, me English.

I'm more comfortable in English.
What language would I speak if you called me?
If you called me and I did not recognize your phone#, I'd speak Hebrew because I am in Israel and that is the logical default.
If you then started speaking in English or English-accented Hebrew, I'd switch to English.
Of course, if I knew from the get-go that you spoke English, I'd speak English.

What language do you speak?
Wouldn't make sense to speak a language you don't speak.
