I speak yiddish to my kids up to age 5. Then english to the rest of society so I’m more fluent in English.

I'm chassidish. I speak Yiddish to my father, husband and brothers. Also to my kids when they're little.
Everyone else - English.
Although technically Yiddish was my first language, and I only learned English in school, by the time I was in middle school I was speaking English to everyone besides my father and brothers. So I'm more fluent in English, and that's my default.
I'm perfectly fluent in Yiddish as well though, and usually answer in Yiddish when spoken to in that language.
