Help! We need a new front-loaded washer. I'm not thrilled with the choices so please give recommendations!
I've narrowed it down to Electrolux, Whirlpool and GE. However, each one is lacking features I would like. Any of these brands have a machine you like??

We are staying away from Kenmore (our current one that fell apart), LG and Samsung.

I have the whirlpool for 5 years and I love it! But, I hear it became very computerized, thus causing alot of problems. GE has a very new model that sounds fantastic, but dont know the reviews yet. Maytag and GE are the recommended models now. Good luck!

GE newest model doesn't have the mold smell but I'm coming from Electrolux and the whites are never white (hey I'm outing myself here with my obsession with white laundry Wink ) so I went for the LG which, at the very least, washes beautifully.

I'm very very happy with my maytag. I got the biggest one, I think it's 7.3 cu ft.

I’m also looking for a new machine. OP can you explain why you’re staying away from LG? Per the appliance stores LG is best.

I got the LG top loader several months ago and I'm really happy with it.
OP, why are you specifically staying away from LG?

That sounds like a size of a dryer. Washers go up to 4.8-5.8.
And my Maytag was good but broke real fast.

Same. That's the dryer size though, the washer is 5 cu ft I think. It's huge and cleans well.

That's exactly what my repairman told me. The Maytags break fast.

I had two repair guys that told me all new machines are junk. I heard many are happy with LG, but many had issues as well.

Maytag used to be good on the older models, not anymore....

It's not only which brand is good, but which particular model from that brand.

Whirpool, Amana, and Maytag is the same
Electrolux and frigidaire I think as well same....

Op: the less fancy features, the less chance of things going wrong.

Just an update: I got a new LG. I think it is better quality than the Maytag. I do like the features and ease of use on the Maytag better. I dislike the fact that LG goes back on the default by each load, instead of going automatically to the previous setting. It's also annoying that you can't always foresee the length of time it will use on the cycle (besides on some loads). The sensing is long too.
I think the LG washes slightly better though, but can't say for sure. It feels not as junky as the Maytag.
Still waiting for my Maytag to get fixed, so will have two machines...

Like all machines with the rubber seal. Door needs to be kept open, allow clean cycle to run every month, and wipe down from time to time.

I just got a GE. My qualifications were Large capacity and Availability.
Not having a washing machine the week before pesach made my decision easy.
