Just wondering what most people do? There isn’t really room for me in the back and I get very uncomfortable and nauseous there. If you do leave the hospital sitting in the back how long do you keep it up till you’re back in the front?

I always sit in the front unless my baby is fussy or needs to be fed. I put the car seat in back of the driver's seat so I can easily check on the baby.

When I had room I sat in the back. I like to make sure they were ok, to hold a paci in their mouth etc... now that I have more kids I can't sit back there because of how the car seats are arranged.

On the way home from the hospital, yes, I sit in back. Because it's a good half hour drive and the first time the baby has used the seat. After that, only for long family drives when I might need to feed or entertain him or her, and I bring a bottle. Otherwise, I'm in front because I'm driving. I can't think of anywhere local I'd be going with a newborn that dh would be with me.
