Hi, we're co-hosting a Chanuka party tomorrow night....
me and my sister in law are doing all the cooking...
around 13 kids and 6 adults...
So what is quick and easy (I have kids home all day tom on Chanuka break, and my sister in law is working tomorrow)
and that uses easy to get ingredients!!
any good ideas? all the kids like very kid friendly food and our aunt and uncle have very sophisticated palettes...

Dairy-lasagna (and quiche for the more discerning) are fairly quick and easy (lasagna use prebaked sheets, jar of sauce and grated cheese, layer and you're done). Pizza of course. A soup is nice-onion soup with garlic rolls/bread is a good milky one.

Easy baked ziti. Take two packs of ziti noodles and cook them. While they are cooking dump two containers of ricotta cheese, 1 bag of shredded mozzarella cheese, 1 jar of pizza sauce, 3 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese, and 1 egg in a bowl. Mix the whole mess together. Drain the noodles and throw them in. Mix well, then put the whole thing into a 9x13 pan and bake.

How about colorful baby chicken shish kebabs, mushroom rice, and green beans?

Buy cut cubes of baby chicken. Marinate for 2 hours. Thread onto skewers with big squares of 3 colors of peppers and zucchini rounds. Bake on a cookie sheet at 400 for 25 minutes.

Mix 2 cups rice with 2 tsp salt, 4 cups water, 1 drained can sliced mushrooms. Add oil, onion, garlic, pepper. Bake at 400 for 1 hour. Mix well and garnish with parsley.

Toss 1.25 pounds trimmed green beans with oil, spread over a rimmed cookie sheet and roast at 400 for 8 minutes, no longer. Toss with fresh garlic and coarse salt after. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Roll out store bought pizza dough. Add pizza sauce & pizza cheese. Roll up like jelly roll
Cut into slices. Lay flat with twirl on top till baked & cheese melted. Not too long. I guess you can arrange into menorah shape before baking or after.

Ready made frozen chicken nuggets and fries for the kids.
Cubes of salmon over Caesar salad
Cream of chicken soup. It’s quick and easy.
Mushroom barley soup with beef.
Club steak, flanken, anything that is already cut will be easier to serve.
Cook it low and slow.
Dessert is ready cookie dough warmed up right before serving with ice cream.

Make a cocktail and serve between 2 courses.

Scratch the “impressive” and go for easy and family-friendly imo if you only have a day and your kids are home.

Taco bar with lots of toppings?

Or build your own deli sandwich with mini baguettes, deli platters arranged fancy, dressings olives pickles, salad, and potato chips?

Doughnuts and sorbet for dessert.
