Ok
This is what I’ve been told
1. All non perishable closed items.
Wipe down with mask and gloves and place in a box and take to shul. This way about 20 hrs would have past. The same with closed store bought food. Wipe down and take it to shul fridge tonight.
2. All home cooked food- do not use.
B”H it’s only 20 ppl and I’m easy going for cooking
Food will be served buffet style
Dips (store bought) and Challah (store bought) will be on the table
I’ll make
Sesame coated salmon
A big green salad with ranch dressing and balsamic dressing on the side.
2 big Briskets -MADE
Meatloaf roll up with spinach - MADE
Rice
String bean with almonds
Dessert store bought
Miniatures, Fruit, Chocolate
This I can handle with such short notice
It will be beautiful

Please make sure to let your guests know about the situation, even though you were told what to use and what not. Other people may feel differently, or have situations going on that you are not aware of.
Mazal tov, and enjoy!!

If Corona is going around in your area, I would avoid buffet serving where everyone breathes on all the food. Although I was one who said... well, anyhow, I'd have a masked & gloved waiter...

I would use it. We recently had a family shabbos simcha and someone tested positive. They live in the house with the simcha. They were almost done with their quarantine at that point. Almost everyone else in the house had antibodies. We spoke to 4 different doctors. All said that they should sit further away from other ppl and be masked. Otherwise no issue. We put them completely on one side of the room. The food was home cooked and we were told its fine to use. We told ppl the situation and everyone decided to come besides one person. As far as I know nobody tested positive afterwards.

I'm curious why the home cooked food is no good. Do the germs not die when it's heated?

Since it’s something that can’t be sprayed or wiped down

if it's in an aluminum pan or something, you can wipe down the outside of the pan. Then put it back in the oven on 350 for a while to kill germs. But that may dry it out
