Where in either the city or Brooklyn. I don’t have insurance. Thanks!

I believe every urgent care center is doing them and you don’t need insurance

If you have a social, you can get tested without insurance at an urgent care. Without one, there are city testing sites. What area are you in?

Thanks. I do have a social. I will be staying in the city and visiting Brooklyn. I’m not there yet, but I need it to come back. I have to be tested 72 hours before returning.

So just Google the closest urgent care. Call ahead to make sure they'll have results back for you quickly.

I just wanted to add that those of us with high deductible plans or high copays or even a small copay. Most urgent care centers/doctors are essentially business and always looking at the bottom line therefore they will try to maximize their profit by trying to bill you a visit at which point your copay or deductible is collectible. However if you’re just coming to get a covid test or just coming to get a flu shot or just coming for any vaccine please be firm and say “ I refuse a visit by your healthcare provider please don’t take my vitals it’s unnecessary I just want my test or vaccine” I would further tell them to please not bill an “evaluation and management code to the insurance company as you do check your claims made online” at which point the doctor/pa/np can no longer document a visit and if they do it’s fraud. No visit code means you’ll only be responsible for the test and the administration of the swab or administration of vaccine (or vaccine which may even be free in nyc) which is way cheaper than the visit itself. Again just to reiterate a doctor is not allowed to bill a visit if a patient is coming just for a vaccine.
