Nobody can pack up their entire apartment and move in one morning. The renters must have known about the upcoming construction. Did you have a contract with the renters? If you did, you should be protected at least from getting your 2 months rent. Renters can’t just pick up and leave without paying.

It would be helpful if the situation were explained more clearly up front.
It's too difficult to guess.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Yes, its that sort of situation. They only had to pack their bags.
I didn't give more information because , as I have said, my concern is NOT about the renters but about potential damage to my apartment by the construction.

To be fair, most of your OP was about your tenants.
Other than a crack in your ceiling, which could be cosmetic, why are you thinking your place will be damaged?
What do you need at lawyer for now?

Your OP:
" My questions:
Am I entitled to compensation for the loss of income?
Are they required to have insurance to protect my apartment from damage?"
So it was in part about the renters as you wanted to know if you could recoup your rent. I have never heard of any instance where someone doing shiputzim would have to reimburse or pay someone's rent if no renters wanted to stay through out the construction. It may not be great for you, but there is definitely no law like that.

My primary concern is whether they are liable for damage to my apartment.

Damage? Of course. With documentation, you can sue them.
Noise? No

Yes, but before calling in a lawyer, speak to the kablan. Chances are he'll send down a worker to fix the damage.
You're not entitled to compensation for loss of rental income.

I agree with this. Why jump to sue anybody before exploring other options?
