To elaborate, the reason why there are 2 dates, is that when the Gregorian calendar was adopted 400 years ago the Orthodox Church refused to accept it, and still keep xmas by the Julian calendar.

My cleaning lady is very frum. Although she is Orthodox, she is celebrating both days. Fast day, xmas and friday is NOT a good combination!
