Im looking if anyone is able to write up a short poem thanking the parents in my playgroup for the generous chanuka gift they gave. please? I would really appreciate it.

I once got a poem from someone here and she didn't tell me her name so I don't know her. and she did a fantastic job! it was very meaningful and appreciated. (ill always remember and appreciate it)

Please, just write a nice note. If I got a rhyme from my kid's teacher, my respect for her would plummet. She's an adult, and we're adults.

I'm all for devorim hayotzim min halev myself. But let's see what I can do

Thank you for the lovely gift.
Thoughts do count, it's true.
But this took some time and effort
And to all I say thank you.

Thank you for entrusting me
with your precious treasures
I feel the responsibility
But much more than that there's pleasure

In teaching your dear kinderlach
Time spent in play and lessons
May Hashem grant you abundant nachas

OK, I need a nice frum last line. Something in Yiiddish must rhyme with lesson Wink

If a little rhyme would make your respect plummet... How much respect can you have?

Some people like rhymes. Why is that the benchmark of adults?

My respect wouldn’t plummet but I would feel like it was less heartfelt and more scripted.

what if some of these parents are on imather and see you got the poem here? Lol. You would be better off writing a few heartfelt sentences of thanks, in my opinion

I'm a therapist and I got a few gifts. I wrote personal thank you cards to the parents.

I got a typed up poem from my daughters playgroup teachers, and it just didn't feel genuine or sincere.

My sons rebbeim sent a personal thank you card back which was nice

I have a great deal of respect for teachers. They do holy, arduous work and don't get nearly the compensation they deserve. It's just that I expect a teacher to be able to express herself coherently. Rhymes are cute, but heartfelt is a lot better than cute.
