Purchased a shark upstanding vacuum that wasn't too expensive. Tried using it in my new house on plush carpet and it did not slide well at all. could be the suction was too strong but it really won't work for my bedroom carpet. my downstairs is flooring and upstairs is a combo of some plusher carpet and some more commercial.
Any ideas for a good not too expensive vacuum that can be used for thicker carpet?

I have the riccar vibrance in red. (I menti9n the color because it is a specific model but not sure what its called that only comes in red.) It isn't cheap. It did last me for the past 8+ and still works perfectly.

Looks really good when I researched it. thanks so much! maybe I'll get... its just a bit expensive... anyone else have any vacuum to recommend for plush carpet?

On my shark vacuum (which I love, and my bedrooms are all carpeted) there's a little valve that lets you adjust the suction. My shark (navigator) glides over carpet so easily. Last week DH did the vacuuming (cleaning lady did not come) and he marveled at how easy it was.
