My son is a very gifted and great talker. It runs in my family , we can talk someting that is crooked straight. Lenghty debates make us very happy people. Anyways , he does lie a lot , even about minor things because he hopes he can get away with it. Any tips on how I proceed from here, I do worry a lot about it . It comes across as manipulative.

I'm bumping this up for any help!
Dealing with a similar situation except my son isn't a good talker and I often catch him in his lies. But he still insists he isn't lying even when I prove to him he is. He'll just shrug his shoulders.

Oooh I am so so following this.

When ds was a young kid, I found his talkative vivacious nature adorable, though I was unsettled by how glibly he lied, exaggerated, etc. I thought that he was immature, that he had difficulty distinguishing truth and fantasy.

He is 13 now, and still at it.

I'm really quite worried.
