Any good ideas for what I could do with dh at night in NY (in Manhattan)? We will for once have "free" babysitting.

I don't think her dh would want to go to a makeup store...Confused

What about a "kosher show?" and dinner at a fancy restaurant. We just had our first date night in a really long time and SPLURGED. A bit too much for my taste, but dh wanted to.

Mimi, can you give an example of a "Kosher" show, I'd love to go with DH to a show but he won't go to broadway shows...are there any shows you can recommend that you consider "Kosher"?

Someone told me about a website called mikomos.com that lists date places. I can't vouch for the site or the places but I think it was created to give ideas for shidduch dates.

My dh won't listen to kol isha. This past time we saw Stomp - it's basically people making music with brooms and bags and drums, etc. Very cool. Very different. Absolutely no talking/singing at all. There were about 6 grunts the entire movie. However, there were two women in pants in the show, but they weren't singing or dancing, just playing with brooms like the others. You have to decide if that's ok with you. Btw, there were loads of frummies there.

We also saw blueman group - very different also, but there are only 3 men in the whole show, also no talking, playing weird instruments - very entertaining. No women at all.

Also, we went to this new fancy shmancy "cafe." Across the street from le marais (I forgot the name) But it's owned by le marais. It's fleishig and VERY trendy. We're so not cool enough to go, but we did anyway. I guess our money is still green so...Dh wanted to go. I'm ok, with pizza:)

But, it has a bar when you walk in and exposed brick walls and black tables with candles. Very trendy, very cool. under the OU

The wax museum is lots of fun, but costs $$$. The museum of natural history is also nice. I've been there with my husband & we both enjoyed it. Another idea is the New York Public Library on 5th Avenue, which is humongous! (I remember going there on a date a while back Smile )

Have fun in NY!

The Museum of Nat. History is nice but very expensive. I wouldn't go if I didn't get in free (dh works there - kind of.) You can go to some parts for free but the really cool new exhiubits cost big bucks.

FYI, the Intrepid is being repaired, and won't be back until (IIRC) next year.

There is no dave and busters but there is espn zone - it's a men's fantasy. Dh and I went on our first date. He knew I was the one because I beat him in basketball and still agreed to go out with him on date #2.
