Can anyone help me out. I mentioned something about high school GO and my husband asked what it stands for. I’m like I don’t know. And he burst out laughing that his sisters would talk about GO all the time but when he asked what it means couldn’t answer. And how people are so obsessed yet he is still to find someone who can tell him what it means. So, anyone?!!! Wink

In the context of hs, it's "general organization." Which doesn't really make sense and sounds like a term someone slapped on, being too lazy to define what the org is really supposed to do. "Hey, the principal needs the room for a meeting, we gotta split. Let's just call it a 'general organization' and figure out what we want to do with it later."

You’re hilarious!!!

And thank you guys for the answer.

And wow. Okay so the very popular people in charge of the fun stuff at school are in charge of ‘general organization’ that’s pretty funny.

In response to the older thread that was referenced, GO is a VERY old term. It appears in my mother's public HS yearbook in the early 1940s, and it wasn't a new term then.
