My 10 year old daughter is beginning to work with a therapist for self esteem and social skill issues. The therapist wants me to drop her off and pick her up at the end of the session. I’m surprised, because I would think for this age child I would have to wait in a waiting area for her. The office is in the therapists house, I don’t know if that makes a difference. What is the norm in this situation?

If it's in her house then she probably doesn't have space for a waiting room
My mom used to take my brother to an OT who doesn't have space in her house for a waiting area, so my mom used to wait in the car

Best therapy that I did with my child involved me! I was part of the session and it was wonderful as it carried over for many more hours than our the one therapy hour.
Of course, every child is different and every concern is different.
