I usually work every day and send my toddler to a playgroup and get paid for schooling from my work. I get paid every month when I need to pay the school. I had a baby now and was not working this month. Am I supposed to pay for the school myself or do I ask my boss to pay for it? (I only started sending to school because my boss was willing to pay for it.)

Is your maternity leave paid? My guess is that most places would only pay for childcare when you are working but sounds like you have a really nice boss!! So maybe you will get luck.

I would say "Boss, I don't recall, did we discuss the arrangements for the playgroup fees when I'm away on mat leave".... and accept whatever he says.

If you didn’t make an arrangement for this I don’t think your boss should pay. You are not working now.

Yup - exactly this. Just ask very matter of factly. Expect a no, being that you are not working now and never made up a plan that he would yes pay.

They really would be going above and beyond to pay for this time.
