What is the latest in the evening that you would consider appropriate to call someone who you are not particularly close to?
As in, anyone’s landline or a cell of someone someone you are not close too (for example a kids teacher or any sort of reference call)

10 o'clock. I go to bed early, but I still think until 10 is acceptable.
If you know them and know that it's ok, then possibly 10:30. Never past that, especially not on a landline.

9:30 if it's for me, 10:00 if it's for them. 10:00 in general on a Motzai Shabbos.

9/9:30. If someone called me at 10, even someone I’m close to, I’d be upset about it.
If you can, text first and see when is a good time for them to speak

It really depends whom you're calling and if you know the person.
If you know that the person you're calling is an early bird- early to bed, don't call past 9:00. (One of my sisters sleeps by nine).
If you know they are night owls- late to bed, you might be able to call till 10:30.
If you don't know them, you can take a chance till 10:00, but don't let it ring more than one or twice.

Landline till 8 pm and cell till 9 pm if it’s someone I am not close to. Landlines tend to ring much louder and can wake up the kids. But most people I know don’t have landlines. With someone I am close to I feel like I can call later than that.

I go to sleep early but I'd call someone until 10:00. I think past that is rude unless you specifically know the person and know that they're still awake or that they don't mind.
I am upset when my phone rings at 10:20, and I don't pick up no matter who it is.

9:30-10. Past that is a call to someone you know is for sure still up and doesn't mind talking at that hour.
My kids teacher called me at 9:40 last night.

If I had to give a blanket cut off time I'd say until 9:30 is ok. If it's a real quick call then maybe until 10 but that's pushing it. As someone who has to get up pretty early I try to be in bed by 10:30ish most nights. I'd be pretty annoyed if someone called me at 10 and wanted to have a whole conversation (ie. A child teacher or a shidduch reference). Most of the time I simply won't answer calls that late unless it's someone I'm close with.

9:30 10 that’s when I stop taking phone calls lol
I call people before 10:30 depending but to me the earlier the better
