Where is lecht in your house. On the table, near the table, in a different room?

Somewhere else, not chassidish. It's not in your poll.
The house is open space, the candles are not in the dining area but you can see them clearly from there.

Chassidish, my candles are on a buffet table at the corner of the dining room. I don't think there's a chassidish way of doing this, I've seen countless people with the candles on a separate buffet table.

We do the same. The lecht was in the way as my family grew. We have it in the kitchen but can see it from the dining room table.

I always light in my dining room different places depending on our furniture at the time for a while I was lighting on my table but not so safe now with my baby. Also now we have a nice side piece to light on. When I was lighting on my dining room table if we had too many people sometimes I would light in my kitchen.

My mother has it on the table. We have it on a buffet on the side by the wall. It works out better because its safer for the kids and also makes it easier to clear the tablecloth and change it. Chassidish

I was raised with the licht on the Shabbos table either in the middle or at the end.
Also, I was raised with a lot of stress to be careful because of the fire and various halachic rules about moving the table, moving the tablecloth, etc.
I have a lower bookshelf-around shoulder height that we set up the licht there. Visible from the Shabbos table, but without the stress if my 2 year old starts pulling the tablecloth.

On the table, but only because I don't have kids. My parents have one of those picture frames that fold down and they put the candles on there.

I never knew that people put the candles on the dining table. That sounds very inconvenient. I put mine in a bay window in the living room.

I would never put candles on any surface that has a tablecloth. Too easy to tug from anywhere and cause and problem, even by accident, and then they've fallen over onto cloth (can easily fall beyond the tray.) We do ours on a side table or buffet, all the way back by the wall.

I grew up with it on the table, but I don't have enough room to leave it on the table, BH.

I don't like on table because no room for food either!

Yes, sounds dangerous and stressful to have on the table, and also anti-social. It blocks your view of others, just as a taller flower arrangement would (I don't keep any flower arrangements on my table if they are taller than the size of a glass).
On another thread someone mentioned she uses them to help obscure herself from the men's view when there are guests.
It's a pet peeve of mine, having things that obscure the view on the table.

I put two candles on the table (on a tray with the salt shaker).
The candles that were added for the kids are in a leichter on the sideboard.

I don't like it on the table: unconvenient, dangerous, you can't see the person on the other side, bulky.

Indigo,
I’m looking for a mirrored side table, this looks really nice. Would it hold a large rectangular tray with candlesticks?
