How do you use it?

Also what is the proportion of powder to liquid?

It says on the label. If I'm not mistaken, 1 tablespoon to 4 cups water.

I put alittle less cuz don't like when it's hard as rock. I like when it's hard but soft.

It says on the label 4 teaspoons per 6 cups. I put a little less.

Makes fish sauce hard, instead of pike skin.

Thank you. Now I'm even more confused. I've never seen hard fish sauce.

Like solid? Or thickened, like adding corn starch?

Seems to be just fish-derived gelatin, from what I understand

Would I add this to the pot of fish, or to a separate one with just water? If so do you add sugar and spices?
Trying this for the first time... (moved away from Brklyn and easy access to pike skin)

I add to the fish pot directly while it is cooking. all spices are in the pot already at that point. The instructions are to add once the water is boiling

Either one should be fine. It doesn’t change the flavor at all.

Now that it was bumped anyway, thanks for this thread. Was late erev shabbos a few weeks ago, I had this powder, but nowhere did it say how much to use. A quick search here and I had my answer. Thank you!
