I think newborns are gassy no matter what mom eats. |
I had two other ones like this. with one I remember starving myself by cutting out food after food and nothing helped. I lost all my pregnancy weight right away because I was off so many foods.
with the other one (I had a calmer baby in between) I pretty much didnt even try because of my last expereince. and now with this one I'm torn, trying to help her but I'm going crazy anyway from her screaming, at least let me eat whatever is available.

Please don't give enzymes without running it by your pediatrician first.

OP I looked up the enzymes again and Enzymedica digest spectrum is even better, it contains a special enzyme that helps break down gluten and casein, which the digestgold doesn’t.

This!!!
I do a variation: grab babies knees and gently but firmly bend legs and press into the stomach. Gas will come right out. You can wiggle the legs side to side a bit, while still holding at the knees, to help move gas around and release it.
Repeat until everything is out and baby feels better.

amother [ OP ] wrote: | I'm exclusively breastfeeding. which food/drink should I avoid to prevent baby's gassiness? |
If you are breastfeeding exclusively then gas can often mean that the baby is getting too much fore milk which is higher in sugar. I would look up Jack Newman’s instructions on breast compression and also nurse ig one side at a time to make sure that the baby is getting enough of the hind milk which is lower in sugar and higher in fat.

That’s great! Then try breast compression after the flow slows dow to keep pulling out the fattier hind milk. This is a very common cause of gas in babies.

I used colic calm and it worked very well. Mylicon drops did not help. It is very expensive though but worth it
Also, check for tung Tie or lip tie this could cause baby to swallow air if they don’t have a good seal
