Chair is a dark brown metal frame, my dining room floor is a Greyish vinyl. Would a cream color work for the cushions or too stark? Don’t want to go back to dark brown - that’s what I had before...

What about a print? Go to an upholstery shop & look through books. Or look online and request a sample.

Cream could blend in but not so practical as it is a light color unless you can wipe it clean like a vinyl/faux leather/plastic or if it's fabric/seude/velvet and covered with a heavy clear plastic.

The right grey could look great with the brown metal.
