Looking to get away just dh and myself. I would love to go to warmer climates but the cost of flying etc will come out too much for us. Trying to come up with an alternative. Was thinking of leaving the kids with grandparents for two days and go to a hotel in the city. Maybe Times Square? Eat out, walk around, shop etc. Or rather somewhere in the mountains with nature views. I’m not really in the mood of shlepping food but if I could find a place with our private outdoor hot tub with Mountain View’s it might be worth the effort. Does something like that exist without breaking the bank?
Basically looking for a getaway not far from Brooklyn, low key, relaxing, food a plus. Just want to get away from it all on a budget.

Not in NYC but so romantic. DH and I went for a night and it was the most relaxing thing. Near the ocean, close-ish to Deal for dining, and we made sure to reserve a room with a 2-person hot tub in it. The place was meticulously clean and the owners were very accommodating.
The pictures make the room look bigger than it really is, but I didn't find that to be an issue, it wasn't cramped. We were only there for one night though.

Thanks but this looks a bit depressing to me. I want to escape and relax but I don’t really want to just hole up in some bed and breakfast

Right now so much of NYC is closed and empty that it wouldn't be my first choice for a destination. If you check AirBNB you can definitely find reasonably-priced rentals with private hot tubs, both outdoors and indoors, in beautiful surroundings.

The reason I was thinking nyc is for the kosher food. I love city life and things happening but I’m a sahm with no car so I basically just get out to the local grocery. I also enjoy nature and dh prefers nature. So I figured we get the food, city feeling and could get our nature fix in Central Park. But I’m open to other ideas.

Would you consider Philadelphia? Beautiful city (the old historic district specifically) and there’s plenty of kosher (in the outskirts) DH and I had a mini moon there years back and really enjoyed it. (I live in Manhattan so I’m
Obv a city person but honestly? Wait till spring or summer when maybe covid recedes a bit to come. The city is Still not what it used to be (nowhere is I suppose)

There is no dining in NYC so you may as well travel if you'll be bringing food anyway. The only upside is you can have kosher restaurant food delivered in NYC.

Oops forgot about the indoor dining situation. You could tell I don’t get out often enough 🙁. Last time we ate in the city it was warm so the outdoor dining worked for us.

How about Atlantic City? I see the hotels are really cheap there and there’s kosher food nearby. Anyone been there recently?

We had a great time there a few months ago.
Is the kosher place open now in the winter?

Are you into gambling? (With winter and inability to Go to the beach I wonder what there is to do there beyond the casinos)

Better look into it to see if they’re open (hate to state the obvious but with Covid it’s not likely)

Oh this looks so nice, thanks for sharing!! What restaurant did you get food from? I assume this place isn’t kosher- I see they give breakfast. Anything else you liked about it? Gonna call for reservations I think.

Tickets to mexico are really cheap. My relative just went. Tickets were a bit over 200, hotel was 50/night.
